Terminal Poker Is The Home Of The Awesome New Texas Holdem Variation Called ‘Speed Poker’ My Review Here
by The Poker Dog
It is not so often than a new Texas Holdem Poker game comes around that really stands out from the crowd… I guess the last one to do this would have been Double-Holdem over at Party Poker. Terminal Poker are offering a fantastic new game called ‘Speed Poker’, if you ever played Rush Poker over at Full Tilt then you will already be familiar with the idea – if not then here is a short description of how it works.
Instead of sitting at a table you join a group of players who have joined for your buy-in level and game (NL Holdem and PLO are running). 5 players are then put into a hand, when each player folds they are instantly re-combined with players also not in a hand to form a new table.
You can fold before it is your turn to act (opponents will not know this until they bet and you appear to fold instantly in turn), which cuts out all of that dead waiting time while other players are in a hand. From the players perspective they are always involved, making it possible to play up to 300 hands per hour!!
This game is not only fast – the simple yet cool looking software makes it feel fast and smooth too… once you get into your groove you can be playing more profitable Texas Holdem hands than you ever thought possible in the time-span. You get to choose from a number of quirky, futuristic looking avatars too.
Tournaments are available at Terminal Poker in Speed Poker format. At the moment the site is very new, so these are just in freeroll format (with real cash prizes). I expect they will need a few hundred more players before they can start to run real-money tournaments. I am actually looking forward to these a lot, since the Rush Tournaments over at Full Tilt Poker were one of my favorite games.
Buy-in levels for the cash games start at just 5c / 10c blinds and currently go up to 50c / $1 – again the newness of the site means that the lowest levels are where the action is, I am sure there will be bigger games running within a few months.
Terminal Poker Review Of Speed Poker – Get Good Now Before The Masses!
My thought for Killer Holdem readers is this: New games are always great for fish and recreational players, and once a certain number of ‘regulars’ come in the new guys wander off to find a new game. In my opinion, Speed Poker has the potential to be huge, with 1000’s of new players yet to try the games.
This means there are actually 2 profitable opportunities ahead, one in the Fall of 2011, when the games are new and fun players dominate. Then again when the concept takes off – when you are already familiar with the games and their flow and taking the money from the new guys.
Add to this a big marketing budget to start the site off (200% deposit bonuses available at the moment with my referral code SNGPLANET) and you have a win-win-win situation.
