With so many poker sites out there, and so many opinions of which is the best Texas Holdem Poker Site – making the right choice can often be confusing. Big ‘headline’ bonuses can often disguise small sites with only a limited number of ‘nitty’ grinders as opponents. While the bigger brand sites can make you feel overwhelmed by the sheer choice of tables, games, levels and variations available.Read more...
When assessing a room, one of the first things I like to look at is the statistic in the lobby for the Texas Holdem tables. These show the percentage of players seeing each flop (an indication of looseness) and the average size of each pot (indicating aggression and wildness). Now, many tables will fit into some comfortable boundaries, however the number of tables with one or both of these looking high is a great indicator.
Software is a key aspect for me. While I love easy poker games and soft opponents, if I was being honest I’m not prepared to stay on a site with software from the 1990s just to play them. Smooth play, intuitive controls and smart graphics are the minimum for me, if a poker site does not include these then I’ll go elsewhere!! Of course, if you are the type of player who will put up with bad software in your quest for bigger profits then more power to you!
Bonuses, we can not ignore them – especially when it comes to choosing an online poker site which may be your favored home for some considerable time. Here the recommendation is to look beyond the headline rate and make sure that the ongoing promotions and extra (or reload) bonuses are both regular and generous. Sure, a big bonus to start with is nice – however, if you make a commitment to play your Holdem games in one particular site then moving around again due to lack of bonuses is far from ideal.
Of course, there are many other factors – for example Cake Poker has fishy (soft) games, but does not allow the use of Poker Software Tools. My personal recommendations would have to be the biggest site online for Texas Holdem Cash games – read our Pokerstars Holdem review here. For non-US Players the choice of games is much wider, here I would recommend you check out the premium poker site on the premier network – the games are easy and the promos generous, read our Red Kings Holdem Review for more.
